Carolyn Packer is a Bay Area native currently working as a UX designer in San Francisco. She completed an MFA in the Graduate Program in Design at California College of the Arts in 2014, where she worked with Martin Venezky (Appetite Engineers), Geoff Kaplan (General Working Group), Jennifer Morla (Morla Design), Brett McFadden and Scott Thorpe (McFadden & Thorpe Design), Scott Minneman (Onomy Labs), and Mary Kate Meyerhoffer (SheGeek Designs) among others.
Carolyn draws on a rich tradition of making – from cooking, embroidery and tapestry art to her love of the camping and creating playful outdoor experiences – in her practice.
Since completing her MFA program, Carolyn has been dedicated to human-centered problem solving. Her work expresses a deep interest and commitment to resilient design – with an eye on user experience and the role of design research to turn user insights into creative solutions.
